I don't think I'd use the word "no" there.this is the one I just bought. It looks like they want you to buy a sound bar. Without a converter your VCR and DVD player is obsolete. There are no RCA type analog audio or video plugs on any modern large TVs. The Audio converter works OK if the Video converter is turned off. That would mean regular plugging and unplugging, no bueno.

The headphone jack disables the onboard speakers. Hopefully it stay that way, IF not I will return it. I was able to turn off all the smart features and voice recognition features. This one is the least that way we could find. I wanted none of that, I will not have it in my house ever. Nearly all new TV are very computer intensive with voice monitoring and a camera in some. of electronics, one boat anchor at a time! :) Then there's the question of 'smart' vs 'dumb' sets. But the LCD sets are very very close to the picture quality now that you can get from an OLED so it will have to do. I leave the thing on 24/7 so for my usage it WILL burn, not simply may burn. I am pretty much eliminating the OLED sets due to burn in. I'll probably dodge the "which A/D and D/A converter is best" by just getting the more costly set in the first place, but it's not going to be too much fun shopping for which one.
